MARTA's Better Breeze installation scheduled for 3 stations this month (wsbtv.com) — MARTA riders in Atlanta should prepare for temporary faregate closures and entrance changes as the new Better Breeze payment system starts rolling out at H.E. Holmes today, Civic Center on Dec. 16, and Midtown on Dec. 22. Construction and detours will continue at several other stations as MARTA upgrades faregates, vending machines, and apps, aiming for more secure, contactless payments by spring 2026.

Parents are urged to stop using the product immediately as 51 babies nationwide have been hospitalized. The new vaccine approach emphasizes shared decision-making with doctors, especially for low-risk families.
   

4. ‘Why does everyone hate us': Jewish community, rabbi react to Australian Hanukkah terror attack (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Metro Atlanta’s Jewish community is gathering for Hanukkah events while processing grief and fear after a deadly terrorist shooting at a celebration in Australia. Local rabbis, residents, and Georgia’s only Jewish state legislator describe balancing mourning with determination to celebrate openly, reject hate, and stand for religious freedom as menorahs are lit around the region.
   

5. Atlanta man arrested near north Georgia state prison after deputies intercept suspected drug drop (11alive.com) — A 22-year-old man from Atlanta was arrested near Hays State Prison in Chattooga County after deputies say they intercepted a suspected contraband drop in nearby woods. Using a thermal drone and K-9 units, officers recovered backpacks containing drugs, phones, and tools, and the suspect now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
