  1. Atlanta is testing diagonal crosswalks at Midtown's rainbow crosswalk. The intersection of 10th Street NE and Piedmont Avenue NE will be home to the "pedestrian scramble" where cars in all directions will stop at the same time for pedestrians to cross. The crosswalk trial will take place until the end of the month. (CBS 46 News)
  2. A witness to a fatal stabbing at an Atlanta Texaco gas station Monday morning ended up shooting the stabbing suspect, according to officials. Police responded to a stabbing and shooting call on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 6:00 a.m. They say the witness had followed and confronted the suspect, who then lunged at him with a knife and prompted the witness to open fire. The suspect was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Police are reportedly interviewing the witness to determine if he will face any charges. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Activists against the proposed legislation to lease 700 beds of an Atlanta detention center rallied outside of City Hall on Monday as discussions took place inside. Those speaking out say they want the mostly-empty detention center to be turned into a health and wellness center for the city. Suggested services include emergency housing, social services, treatment programs, and more. (Reporter Newspapers)
  4. The Superior Court of Fulton County allowed Georgia's six-week abortion law to stand yesterday. The court declined to place an injunction on the heartbeat law due to a lawsuit currently circulating in the court system which challenges the constitutionality of the abortion law. (WTVM)
  5. Black Radio United For The Vote, the coalition of Black-owned Atlanta radio stations, is coming together once again to promote voter education and mobilization. The coalition was initially formed prior to the 2020 Presidential election to fight voter suppression and increase Black voter turnout. Now, their goal is to reach and educate listeners ahead of the November 2022 election for Georgia's new Governor, Secretary of State, and Senate seat. Members include station owners from Audacy, Cox Media Group, Urban One, and Clark Atlanta University. (Insider Radio)
