Police Search For Shooter After Man Killed Near MARTA Station: Police
The fatal shooting happened Saturday morning at 236 W. Forsyth Street SW in Atlanta, according to police.
ATLANTA, GA — An investigation is underway after one person was found fatally shot near the Garnett Marta station Saturday morning, authorities said.
Police said officers with the Atlanta Police Department responded to the shooting at about 6:15 a.m.after a MARTA officer on a platform heard a gunshot wound and looked over to find a man lying on a sidewalk and another man standing over him, Fox 5 Atlanta is reporting.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest at 236 W. Forsyth Street SW, according to a news release from the police department. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the shooter was wearing a multi-colored shirt and fled the scene heading south on Forsyth Street.
Investigators with the police department's homicide unit responded and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting, according to the news release.
