Here are the top five stories in Atlanta today:

  1. Citizens for Sanity, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, has funded four conservative-themed billboards in Atlanta with a parody of left-leaning beliefs. The organization said the billboards "highlight the radical soft-on-crime policies of today’s political left, including Senator Raphael Warnock." The billboard messages appeared just a few days after former President Donald Trump made disparaging remarks about the city of Atlanta and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. (CBS 46 News)
  2. The White Castle eatery, which materialized on Edgewood Avenue in July, is not real. Though it looks like a White Castle from the outside – and the inside – it is part of a production set for a Disney+ and Marvel Studios series titled, "Ironheart." The building will be torn down soon. (Eater Atlanta)
  3. Organizations in Georgia are being awarded millions as they address housing security issues, Gov. Brian Kemp announced Wednesday. Specifically, a total of $30 million is being awarded. In Atlanta, $3 million will go to the BeltLine Partnership and $2 million will be dedicated to Westside Future Fund. Additional organizations in the Atlanta area that are receiving funds include Quest Community Development Organization and The Housing Resource GroupDreamKey Partners. (Reporter Newspapers)
  4. Metro Atlanta taxpayers are now responsible for voting to approve or deny three local improvements according to a bond referendum. Roswell residents face the decision to spend more than $100 million to upgrade parks and sidewalks which would cost an extra $200 a year in property taxes. The other two decisions taxpayers face are a parking deck downtown for $20 million and a new public safety headquarters for $52 million. (WSB Atlanta)
  5. Two people were shot Wednesday evening during a road rage shooting on I-75. Police responded near 10th Street where a driver of an SUV reportedly fired multiple shots at a BMW which cut it off. Both the driver and the passenger inside the BMW had multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital where they were expected to survive. (WSB Atlanta)
