Rain showers likely to start on Thursday evening and carry over into Friday morning.

ATLANTA, GA – Rain showers figure to douse the metro Atlanta area starting Thursday night and carrying over into Friday.

Things should remain nice, however, during the day on Thursday before the precipitation moves in later that evening. A beautiful spring weekend will follow the rain.

Thursday: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees. South wind 10 to 15 mph., with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday: Showers, mainly before 8 a.m. High near 73 degrees. West wind 10 to 15 mph., with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Mostly clear that night with a low of around 52 degrees.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 76 degrees. Mostly clear that night with a low of around 54 degrees.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 81 degrees. A 20 percent chance of showers that night. Mostly cloudy that night with a low of around 59 degrees.
