Here are the top five stories today in Atlanta:

  1. A major road in Atlanta was shut down while police conducted an investigation into a nearby shooting. A man was shot near the Auto Zone by Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Peyton Place. Officers are continuing to investigate the area and suggest drivers plan alternate routes for the time being. Police are still looking for the shooter, and are asking the public to come forward with any information. The victim was shot during an altercation he was not involved in. His condition and identity have not been released. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. On Monday, a woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Finley Avenue. Brittany P. Glover, the 33-year-old from San Antonio, TX, was crossing the street at 2:15 a.m. outside the crosswalk when she was hit. The driver sped off before authorities could arrive on the scene. Police are investigating the incident. (Atlanta Patch)
  3. This weekend marks the return of the Atlanta Indian Film Festival for its fourth year. The festival, which will take place in Roswell, will celebrate the rich tradition of Indian film. There will be six showings on Saturday, from shorts to feature-length films. Those interested can view the full schedule as well as ticket information on the website. (Reporter Newspapers)
  4. A fire in Buckhead has caused major damage to a beloved restaurant. Tin Lizzy's Cantina erupted into flames during the early morning hours of Monday. Firefighters rushed to contain the blaze, but significant damage was done to the interior and structure of the popular locale. No one was injured during the fire, which firefighters were eventually able to extinguish. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  5. A 13-year-old boy missing from nearby Dekalb County has been found dead. The boy, whose name has not been officially released, was reportedly found on Monday in the woods behind a townhome in Lithonia. According to reports, he had been missing since Saturday. Officials said the boy's body was found by a mother and daughter hiking out on the trails. Police have not yet provided further details on the case, or whether they are investigating any suspects.
