Stacey Abrams' Organization Running Super Bowl Ad In Georgia
Days before she delivers the Democrat response to the state of the union, Abrams' voting rights group is running a $100,000 ad statewide.
ATLANTA -- Stacey Abrams, who will deliver the Democrat Party's response to President Donald Trump's state of the union address, will be running an ad in Georgia during Sunday's Super Bowl. After narrowing losing Georgia's nationally watched governor's race last fall, Abrams formed Fair Fight Action to advocate for election reform and boost voter turnout.
On Sunday, Abrams and Habersham County Commissioner Natalie Crawford, a Republican, will appear in the 30-second ad. The spot, according to the AJC, cost $100,000 and will run in Atlanta, Albany, Columbus, Macon and Savannah.
Earlier this week, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer confirmed that Abrams had been invited to deliver the party's response to the State of the Union address, set for Feb. 5.

Abrams gained national attention last year when she sought to become the nation's first African-American female governor in history. Despite her eventual loss to Republican Brian Kemp, Abrams has said she will run for office again, and speculation abounds as to whether she will challenge U.S. Sen. David Perdue in 2020 or challenge Kemp for governor in 2022.
Georgia's gubernatorial election was marred by accusations of voter fraud and election mismanagement from both parties. Kemp argued that Abrams was attempting to secure the votes of improperly registered voters, while Abrams said Kemp was trying to suppress the minority vote.
