Starbucks Location In Metro ATL Slated To Close: Report
Starbucks is closing about 90 locations across the country as part of a new company strategy.

A Starbucks location along Piedmont and Auburn roads in Atlanta is one of the estimated 90 locations across the country that will be closing next year as part of a new company strategy, according to USA Today.
USA Today reported that CEO Brian Niccol announced on an earnings call this week that Starbucks will be phasing out its pick-up only store model in 2026.
Niccol said the "Starbucks Pick Up" venture that was launched in 2019 was no longer compatible with the coffee chain's plan to get "back to Starbucks," according to USA Today.

"We found this format to be overly transactional and lacking the warmth and human connection that defines our brand," Niccol said on the call, according to USA Today.
USA Today reported that some locations face permanent closure, while others will be converted into traditional coffeehouses at a later date.

The Stratford store on Barnum Avenue is the only “pick up” location listed in Connecticut, according to USA Today.
