Stars Turn Out For 'Shots Fired' Screening In Atlanta
Hundreds pack civil rights center for screening of new Fox police drama 'Shots Fired'.
ATLANTA, GA -- Atlanta celebrities turned out Thursday night for a screening of "Shots Fired," a new police drama appearing on Fox.
Hundreds packed the National Center For Civil And Human Rights on Ivan Allen Boulevard for the event, which featured a Q&A panel moderated by HGTV's "Property Virgins" star Egypt Sherrod.
The TV series is produced by Reggie Rock and Gina-Prince Bythewood and stars an all-star cast, including Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Helen Hunt and more.

Reggie Rock Bythewood said that the idea for the series came to him as he struggled to talk to his son about the Trayvon Martin verdict.
"Shots Fired" is about the drama that overtakes a small town when a black police officer guns down a white man and the community closes ranks around them.

Following the screening, a lively discussion was had on police brutality and community responsibility.
"Shots Fired" also stars DeWanda Wise and Richard Dreyfuss. The show premieres March 22 on Fox.
