Storms To Drench GA In Wet Pattern To End November: See Timeline
Weekend storms are set to arrive amid a drought and predictions that Georgia will see above-normal precipitation.
Storms are expected to hit Georgia on Friday, a day after forecasters told Patch the Peach State could see rainfall up to 2 inches to end November.
Once possible showers pass after 4 p.m., the National Weather Service reported more showers and thunderstorms could enter metro Atlanta and surrounding areas before 1 a.m. Saturday. Another thunderstorm is likely after 3 a.m. Saturday, the forecast showed.
The rain will clear until after 1 p.m. Tuesday, then the widespread pattern is expected to continue through Wednesday night, according to the NWS forecast.

NWS meteorologist Luke Culver on Thursday told Patch the rainfall chances were 10-20 percent in north and central Georgia, which includes metro Atlanta, for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
The forecast showed much of Georgia could face rainfall up to 2 inches at the end of the month, he said. (Read more about end-of-month predictions.)
A recent AccuWeather report showed favorable travel conditions Monday in Georgia, but that will deteriorate as the week goes.
On Wednesday, the holiday weather will be fair for the northern region into southwest Georgia, an AccuWeather graphic showed Friday. Then, on Thanksgiving Day, a large majority of the state will be slammed by showers, according to the forecast.
The rainfall may not be enough to offer a reprieve from a persistent drought in the state, the NWS reported.
