Teen Arrested, Charged With Murder In Deadly Atlanta Summer Melee Shooting
Kentavius Dayquan Jeffries was arrested in connection with the July 3 shooting death of 14-year-old Kaiden Barlow-Gardener.

ATLANTA, GA — Police have arrested a teen connected to a July brawl near Downtown Atlanta that ended in a deadly shooting.
Kentavius Dayquan Jeffries, 19, is charged with murder, criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony in connection with the July 3 death of 14-year-old Kaiden Barlow-Gardener, according to police.
Jeffries is being held in the Fulton County Jail without bond. He already was in jail for third-degree felony child cruelty, attempted armed robbery, aggravated assault, battery, and weapons possession charges, according to jail records.

Jeffries is the 2nd person arrested related to the incident. A 15-year-old was arrested shortly after the incident, police said.
At around 10 p.m. on July 3, police were called to the 600 block of McAfee Street where dozens of teens were involved in a violent melee, police said.

Officers arrived to find teens running away and Barlow-Gardener with a gunshot wound to his chest, along with two other injured shooting victims, according to police reports.
