  1. An Atlanta City Council member, Bryon Amos in District 3, has proposed a "Tenant’s Bill of Rights" filed on Jun. 6. The proposal addresses that renters are a major component of the city's population and they need better protection from “evictions, displacement, high rents and exploitation of tenants” in the current housing crisis. The resolution would be non-binding and calls on the City to develop the “Bill of Rights” as well as for the Georgia General Assembly to repeal any laws providing such city-level protections — particularly including the ability to institute rent control. 2. The Atlanta Brewing Company is opening a new state-of-the-art taproom and brewery sometime in late 2022. The brewery will open at a yet-to-be-disclosed location “certainly before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve,” said CEO Alton Shields. In anticipation of its new location, the old brewery location will be closing its doors. Make your way over to 2323 Defoor Hills Rd NW. before Jul. 3, 2022. (What Now Atlanta)
  3. Mark your calendars! The Atlanta Airport is holding a job fair next Tuesday, Jun. 14 to fill managerial roles, cargo, maintenance, and more. The hiring event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Atlanta airport's domestic terminal atrium, 6000 North Terminal Parkway. If you plan to attend, be sure to pre-register online and bring two forms of government ID. All applicants must pass a 10-year federal background check to work at the airport. (Atlanta Patch)
  4. A portion of Brandon Hall Drive will be closed for utility work beginning Jun. 13. A portion of Habersham Waters Road and Spalding Drive will be closed, making Brandon Hall's campus inaccessible through this entry point. Drivers are encouraged to take Habersham Waters Road to access campus during this time. See the full map at the link. (Reporter Newspapers)
