Top 10 Private High Schools In GA Revealed In New Ranking

Evaluation of 30,000 private schools focused on test scores, academic performance and student, alumni and parent input.

Pace Academy in Atlanta is the best private high school in Georgia, according to a new ranking from Niche.

For the 2026 Best Private High Schools in America ranking released Monday, Niche evaluated 30,000 private schools on measures such as test score, academic performance and input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

Niche ranked Pace Academy at 134th nationally.

Behind Pace Academy, rounding out the top 10 private schools in Georgia are:

No. 2 Fulton Science Academy Private School, Alpharetta, ranked 139th nationally;
No. 3 The Westminster Schools, Atlanta, ranked 146th nationally;
No. 4 Atlanta International School, Atlanta, ranked 150th nationally;
No. 5 The Paideia School, Atlanta, ranked 214th nationally;
No. 6 The Walker School, Marietta, ranked 247th nationally;
No. 7 Athens Academy, Athens, ranked 277th nationally;
No. 8 Woodward Academy, College Park, ranked 278th nationally;
No. 9 Augusta Preparatory, Augusta, ranked 330th nationally;
No. 10 Pinecrest Academy, Cumming, ranked 336th nationally;

Niche also evaluated the nation’s 93,000 public schools in the rankings.

Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology is the best public high school in Georgia.

Following the Lawrenceville school were Alliance Academy for Innovation in Cumming and Columbus High School in Columbus.

Niche’s rankings combine comprehensive data with real experiences from students, parents, and educators, which gives families insight they need to choose schools where their children can excel academically, thrive socially, and establish a solid foundation for their future, Niche said.
