Tractor-Trailer Kills Metro Atlanta Mother, Injures Baby In Disabled Car: Reports

A woman whose car broke down on I-675 near Anvil Block Road in metro Atlanta was fatally hit by a swerving tractor-trailer Thursday night.

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA — A woman is dead and her baby is in the hospital after a tractor-trailer lost control and crashed into the family who was standing next to their broken down vehicle, according to multiple reports.

Clayton County police charged the tractor-trailer driver with vehicular homicide and failure to maintain lane, WSB-TV reported. The incident happened shortly before 10:20 p.m. Thursday along Interstate 675 on the northbound side of I-675 near Anvil Block Road.

According to WAGA-TV, the woman was standing outside when she was fatally hit by the tractor-trailer. The truck was seen by witnesses swerving before the crash, the news station reported.
