"Almost 31 years ago, we were getting ready to open Java Jive with a sign that said 'Ready to Pour in 94.' It is with great sadness and many mixed emotions that the sign will now read 'Closing our Doors in 24,'" Java Jive wrote in Instagram and Facebook posts.
The restaurant did not say what led to the closure.

Recently, Eater Atlanta named Java Jive one of the best breakfast eateries in Atlanta and one of the classic restaurants in town that continues to show endurance.
The restaurant news outlet noted Java Jive's Santa Fe scramble with peppers and spicy chorizo among the establishment's "hearty diner breakfast dishes."
Java Jive said the staff appreciates its customers who have "kept us going" through the years.
"So here is a toast with coffee cups raised high to our amazing, steadfast employees who have been with us through thick and thin, to all the families we’ve seen grow up here from high chairs to high school to college and some now with families of their own, to all the celebrations we’ve gotten to witness and share: countless birthdays, first dates, marriage proposals and even a wedding, to all of the regulars who are now like family who always let us know when they weren’t able to come by so we wouldn’t worry, to the lifelong friends we’ve made and the memories of those who are no longer with us. What a crazy ride it has been to be on Ponce for the last 30 years as the city has changed around us yet we’ve remained the same. ... It has been our pleasure to serve you, to fill you up with strong coffee, fluffy biscuits, comforting food and hopefully fond memories," Java Jive said in its social media posts.
