  1. Two Fulton County employees have tested positive for monkeypox. According to a report provided by the county's Board of Health, the employees are isolating under CDC guidelines at this time. 2. A mother has been charged in the accidental shooting of a four-year-old, according to DeKalb County court records. Kaelin Lewis, 26, was also charged with second-degree felony cruelty to a child. She was driving northbound on I-85 near North Druid Hills Road when her daughter, Kendal, picked up a handgun in the backseat and discharged it at herself. She was to start pre-K the next day. Kendal is one of 40 children who have been shot in the Atlanta metro area this year. (Atlanta Patch)
  3. Atlanta has the third highest inflation rate among 23 large metropolitan statistical areas. The only two cities leading Atlanta were Anchorage, Alaska and the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, Arizona areas. (CBS 46 News)
  4. Rapper T.I. was honored at the Georgia Capitol yesterday. The rapper and actor received the Georgia Outstanding Citizen Award for his community organizing and charitable work.
