Multiple storms may slam GA, bringing heavy rainfall then bitter cold to the region. Could the College Football Championship be affected?

ATLANTA, GA—Snow and ice lingered in metro Atlanta on Wednesday as rumors of a second approaching snowstorm swirled around Georgia, leaving residents to wonder if more wintry weather is coming.
In a state that rarely sees piles of persistent snow, the National Weather Service says the short answer to the possibility of another storm is yes, it could happen. But will it happen?
"That is far from certain," the National Weather Service said Wednesday.

What seems certain is another blast of bitter cold by the end of the weekend that will drop temperatures into the teens at night.
Amid predictions of another cold blast impending, AccuWeather on Tuesday said travel impacts will occur in the East Coast. In an extended forecast, the private weather company said the eastern U.S. will battle two storms next week.

While some parts of the region may see rain and snow, AccuWeather forecasted north Georgia down to parts of Albany will be hit by soaking rain and thunderstorms.
But first, a wintry mix may find its way to the interior Southeast from the coastal Northeast on Sunday, AccuWeather said.
The Southeast and mid-Atlantic could be subjected to accumulating snow and ice depending on the amount of moisture brought into the area, AccuWeather said. Forecasters added the frozen precipitation could build up enough to cause roads to be slippery and delay travel on Sunday.
Another storm, from early to midweek, is projected to live near the Gulf of Mexico. Whether or not it brings heavy snow to the South depends on the storm's intensity and track, AccuWeather said.
Though predictions of snow in Georgia remained unclear Wednesday, weather officials agree on one sentiment: it will be cold next week.
Temperatures in Georgia and other parts of the southeastern region will be 10-20 degrees below the historical average.
This comes as the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are gearing up for a matchup in the NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
