Woman Shot Dead Outside Atlanta Apartment Complex

A woman died from a gunshot wound after a shootout erupted in a parking lot of the Deerfield Gardens complex along Campbellton Road, according to news reports.

The woman, who police have not identified, was in the back seat of an SUV when a passenger in the front seat got into an argument with someone outside the vehicle. A gunfight broke out. No one else was injured in the shooting, police said.

Officers "did, in fact, find a female in probably in her mid-20s shot at least one time,” Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton told WSB-TV.

Two people in the SUV with the woman were interviewed by police, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
