Womens' Group to Hold Supplier Diversity Event in Atlanta
The Women in Defense-Georgia Chapter will hold conference on Jan. 25.

ATLANTA, GA -- The Women in Defense-Georgia Chapter will hold its inaugural Global Supplier Diversity Conference for Veterans and Small Businesses on Wednesday, Jan. 25, the group announced.
The group is extending an invitation to veterans, small business owners, women and minority-owned businesses to attend the event for professional networking and to learn strategies that work in corporate America.
Women in Defense-Georgia’s President Annette Wright said “Small business opportunities continue to rise and yet many small business owners lack the understanding of how to secure viable business opportunities with the government and/or commercial enterprises."

Speakers at the event include Karmetria Burton, general manager of supplier diversity at Delta Airlines; Eyvon Austin, director if global supplier diversity at the Coca Cola Co.; Chanel Bankston-Carter, director of strategic outreach & communications at the Department of Veterans Affairs; and the General Services Administration's Erville Koehler, who is acting regional administrator of the southeast sunbelt region.
"As many entrepreneurs strive to kick-off 2017 with trusted guidance to grow their business, this conference allows attendees to hear directly from large buyers,” said Wright, who works as a Federal Emergency Management Agency contracting officer.
