Woodward Academy Junior to Perform in ASO’s Musicale & Aspire Awards Program
Olivia Silva will perform a duet in Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program November 13.

COLLEGE PARK, GA – Woodward Academy junior Olivia Silva will perform a duet in Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program in their annual Musicale and Aspire Awards on Sunday, November 13, at 7 p.m., at Symphony Hall. Olivia, a second year member of the ASO's Talent Development Program, also will perform with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra and Lisa Kelly, a former member of Celtic Women. Olivia has been playing the flute for seven years and attended the High School Flute Institute at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan last summer.
The mission of the ASO's Talent Development Program is to identify and develop musically gifted and motivated, African American and Latino classical music students for acceptance in top music programs in preparation for careers as professional musicians.

Olivia also represented the Talent Development Program at the 2016 Latino Youth Leadership Conference November 5 for Latino middle and high school students from across Georgia. The conference aims to motivate Latino students to pursue college, provide them with the tools and skills they need to access a college education, develop leadership skills, and promote career exploration.
