Seven Georgia restaurants are among the plentiful recommended eateries in the inaugural 2025 Michelin Guide American South selection released Monday.

The multitude of restaurants join several others in metro Atlanta. The guide merged past one-star Michelin businesses and pre-existing Bib Gormands in the Atlanta area with new southern sites for recognition in its first regional edition.

“The cuisine of the American South is a rich blend of cultural influences, brought to life by skilled chefs who have crafted some of the region’s most iconic dishes,” Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, said in a news release.

“Our anonymous inspectors were deeply impressed by the region’s culinary prowess, and this inaugural selection reflects their findings — from southern staples like barbecue, Creole and seafood, to international flavors. We welcome these restaurants to the Michelin Guide family and toast to all the chef and restaurant teams honored tonight.”

"We are honored. Thank you @michelinguide for the MICHELIN Recommended recognition. It’s time to celebrate. With immense gratitude, Chef Karl, Taurean and the entire @avize.atl team," Avize wrote in a Facebook post published Tuesday.

Banshee in East Atlanta, Chai Pani in Decatur, Georgia Boy in Atlanta, Hen Mother Cookhouse in Johns Creek, LanZhou Ramen in Doraville and Poor Hendrix in Atlanta are among the several existing Georgia restaurants on the suggestive list.

Bib Gourmands in Georgia include Fishmonger in Atlanta, Bomb Biscuit Company in East Atlanta, Table and Main in Roswell and Whoopsie's in Atlanta.

To obtain Bib Gourmand status, restaurants must serve good food at moderate prices to customers, according to Michelin. The designation is named after the company mascot and Michelin Man, Bibendum.

Eateries who are afforded one-stars have high-quality cooking, according to Michelin.

The 2025 Michelin Guide American South selection features 228 restaurants nationwide — varying in 44 cuisines — 50 Bib Gourmands, four special awards and 10 new one-star designations. Emeril's of New Orleans received two Michelin stars.
