- A 22-year-old man was found dead outside of an American Deli on Thursday afternoon. According to officials, the man had sustained a gunshot wound outside the location at 363 Hill Street Southwest just before 4:00 p.m. The victim was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died. As of Thursday evening, he has not been identified. (WSB Atlanta)
- Could downtown office space be converted into housing? Some groups in Atlanta are seekings plans to do exactly that. Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District have issued a request for proposals on how to convert old office buildings into housing. The first step is to find a feasibility study that would analyze the cost and viability of the project. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Are you feeling the luck of the Irish? This St. Paddy's Day weekend, you might be looking for a thing or two to do. If you're a runner, you can join in on a 5k or half-marathon with the Leprechaun Chase 5k and Fit Kids Dash on Saturday. If you're more of a party animal, the St. Patrick's Day Block Party is going down at Colony Square from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. tonight. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A crash involving 10 vehicles shut down I-85 northbound for hours. At least one driver was critically injured when a ten-car pileup occurred near the Lawrenceville-Suwanee exit in Gwinnett County. According to officials, two of the cars were overturned and one driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. (WSB Atlanta)
- A man was arrested on Saturday for shooting a rifle into an occupied home near Mary and Smith streets, according to a Thursday press release. Police say that a patrol officer saw a man dressed in all black, wearing ballistic body armor and armed with a rifle. The man, identified as Malik Chatman, shot into the home but did not injure anyone. After the man attempted to flee, police tracked and arrested him. (Atlanta Patch)
