- A 35-year-old kayaker named Tommy C. Bellamy from nearby Beech Island, South Carolina died after falling into the rapids of the Savannah River. The incident occurred on Saturday morning, and Bellamy's body was recovered by divers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources on Sunday afternoon. (WRDW News)
- Sen. Jon Ossoff will hold a military housing oversight session in the U.S. Senate to address ongoing issues with Fort Gordon family housing. The session will include testimony from Fort Gordon military families, the assistant secretary of the Army, and the deputy chief of staff of the Army, G-9. Ossoff has been leading efforts to improve the conditions of military housing in Georgia and nationwide and will release a new report highlighting the progress made in the last year. (WRDW News)
- Westminster Schools of Augusta boys' soccer team won their 500th victory in the program's history with a 3-0 win over St. Andrews. The team has a storied history, having won 10 state championships between 2000 and 2019, and current coach and head of school Shawn Brower credited the team's chemistry and sense of brotherhood for their success. Despite having just three seniors on the roster, the team has gone 15-0-1 so far this season, and they are aiming to get back to the state championship on May 12. (The Augusta Chronicle)
