As you know, we're more than a news site. Your Brookhaven Patch is an online conversation about your community and we've developed a way to include even more voices in or ongoing dialogue. We're ramping up our local commentary/analysis/humor/insight coverage and we would love for you to consider Patch your home.
Brookhaven Patch provides a platform for local bloggers to have their voices heard. Whether its local issues, cooking, an interesting hobby, we want to hear from you.
Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience.

Here are just some of the traits we need from you:
- Are you passionate about the core issues that affect your towns and county?
- Are you an expert craftsman or hobbyist who can share do-it-yourself tips?
- Do you have strong opinions about local government?
- Can you just make us all laugh?
- Can you craft compelling arguments to support your views?
Although the editor will have the final say whether a blog post is published, Brookhaven Patch will not own the blog content. Bloggers will be unpaid.

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say, when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.
My role as editor would be to review blog entries submitted to Brookhaven Patch to ensure there are no libelous claims. I will correct obvious typos, too. But I won't try to change your voice or put you through rewrite.
Be interesting. Be funny. Be concerned. Be provocative. Be yourself.
If you'd like to chat about the opportunity to share your unique voice with our readers, let me know.
