2 In Stolen Vehicle Arrested On Drug Charges, Brookhaven Police Say
When officers stopped a car for a tinted tag cover, Brookhaven Police say they discovered the vehicle had been stolen out of Atlanta.
BROOKHAVEN, GA — A traffic stop led to the arrest of two people accused of riding in a stolen vehicle with illegal drugs on their person Monday at the Buford Highway and North Druid Hills Road intersection, Brookhaven Police said Tuesday.
The traffic stop was conducted due to an unlawful tinted tag cover, police said. During the stop, police said they noticed a dealer plate on the back of the car and decided to check the car's VIN.
Then, police said they discovered Atlanta Police had reported the car stolen. The occupants were then detained, and police said two people were in possession of illegal drugs.

The driver, who police identified as 25-year-old Amani Dirton, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, was arrested on charges of theft by receiving stolen vehicle, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and traffic charges.
Passenger Erica Breaux, 27, of Garland, Texas, was arrested on charges of possession with the intent to distribute MDMA and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, police said.
