Brookhaven, 3 Other Police Departments To Celebrate National Night Out

Four metro Atlanta police departments -- Brookhaven, Johns Creek, Dunwoody and Sandy Springs -- will join for National Night Out event.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Officers from the Brookhaven Police Department will join three other local police departments to mark National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1. National Night Out, an annual event, is a time for neighborhood residents to join in a united effort to promote crime and drug prevention.

The police departments will mingle with the intertwined communities of Dunwoody, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs as part of an engagement initiative sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. If you can make it, you'll be one of tens of thousands of people from communities across the United States to commemorate the an event that has been going on for nearly 35 years.

“NNO is a great way to improve community relations by bringing everyone together,” said Brookhaven Officer Carlos Niño. “In one event, we all can show unity and solidarity, with local law enforcement agencies, businesses, and citizens.”

Attendees can expect an evening full of entertainment, food and kid-friendly activities, including fire trucks from Sandy Springs and DeKalb County. The event will take place in Dunwoody's Perimeter Mall at 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta from 6 to 9 p.m.
