Brookhaven Chosen As Voting Site For Elections In Peru

The city's Briarwood Recreation Center has been chosen as an official polling place for an important referendum for the country of Peru.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- The city has been designated as the official polling place for an important referendum for the country of Peru. On Dec. 9, 2018, a referendum to reform the Peruvian Constitution will be decided by Peruvian citizens worldwide. The Briarwood Recreation Center, located at 2235 Briarwood Way NE, Brookhaven GA 30319 will be the official voting location for Peruvians who live in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

β€œThe Briarwood Recreation Center in Brookhaven was chosen based upon its capacity and location,” said Miguel Aleman, Consul General of Peru in Atlanta. β€œThe Briarwood Recreation Center has the capacity and is easily accessible from Interstate 85 and Buford Highway.”

β€œBrookhaven has a rich cultural diversity which we embrace,” said Brookhaven District 4 Councilman Joe Gebbia. β€œBrookhaven supports democracy worldwide, and I am proud we are able to support Peru in their important referendum decision.”
