Brookhaven To Host 5K Race On July 22
Brookhaven's Parks & Recreation Department will host its annual "It Starts in the Park" 5K on Saturday, July 22.
BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Brookhaven is inviting the public to take advantage of its bucolic parks in July, National Parks and Recreation Month. The city is also prepping for one of its most prominent races.
The city’s Parks & Recreation Department will host its annual “It Starts in the Park” 5K on Saturday, July 22. The race, which begins and ends in Blackburn Park, starts at 7:30 a.m. at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road. (To get notified of more local news like this, click here to sign up for the Brookhaven Patch. “We encourage everyone to take part in this annual event at one of Brookhaven’s most beautiful parks,” Recreation Coordinator Philip Mitchell said in a news release. “All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate.”

The event is also accepting volunteers to help register and pre-register participants, along with taking money for race entry on-site.
If you register for the race before July 4, the fees are $25. Through July 20, the price will be $30 and $35 on-site. Click here to register online.
