Police in Chamblee Search For Woman Missing More Than a Month

Cecilia Bustamante, 42, vanished in October, but Chamblee police were just recently alerted.

DEKALB COUNTY -- The Chamblee Police Department needs the public's help in solving a bizarre missing person's case that has baffled friends and co-workers for more than a month.

Police said Cecilia Bustamante, 42, has not been seen or heard from since Oct. 28.

They said on that day about mid-morning, she exited her Peachtree Street job in a panic for some unknown reason, WGCL reports.

The only information police have is that she may know people in the Philippines and Baltimore, Maryland.

According to WSB-TV, it was a call from Baltimore that alerted local law enforcement authorities that she was missing. A subsequent interview with her husband, who lives here, led nowhere.

β€œHe didn’t report her missing No. 1, and No. 2, when I interviewed him, he showed a total lack of concern for his wife and the mother of his child,” Chamblee police Capt. Ernesto Ford told the TV station.

β€œSomething horrible has happened to Cecilia. I cannot imagine her walking away from Alex,” friend Mary Kemzura was quoted as saying.

In a description given to WGCL, police said Bustamante is:

Height: 5'03" tall

weight: 120 lbs.

Anyone with information on Bustamante's whereabouts is asked to contact Chamblee Police.
