Daniel Glassmann Named Director of Residential Life At Oglethorpe University

Glassmann starts on July 5

has selected Daniel Glassmann to head its student housing services as the university’s new Director of Residential Life. Glassmann will start July 5. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Counseling and Student Personnel Services at the University of Georgia, where he also serves as a Doctoral Intern of Staff Development and Student Conduct for University Housing.

 “As Oglethorpe continues to expand and elevate the services we offer to our students, we’re delighted to have Danny on board,” said Michelle Hall, Oglethorpe’s Dean of Students and Vice President for Campus Life. “His expertise in student services and demonstrated commitment to diversity make him a welcome addition to our campus community.”

Glassmann previously worked as the Assistant Director of Residence Life and Multicultural Center at Elon University in Elon, N.C.  There, he supported the development of seven residential learning communities, served as a judicial hearing officer, and was involved in the school’s many diversity and inclusion programs, including serving as an advisor to the Multicultural Mentoring Program, Multicultural Student Council, and LGBT student organization.

 Glassmann completed both his undergraduate and graduate-level coursework at the University of Central Arkansas, where he earned his Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Services and Administration.
