Dunwoody High Graduate Killed In Florida Yoga Studio Shooting
Police said Scott Paul Beierle fatally shot Maura Binkley, a 2015 Dunwoody High graduate, on Friday, in a Tallahassee yoga studio.

ATLANTA, GA — One of two people who were killed Friday in a Florida yoga studio shooting was a 2015 Dunwoody High School graduate. Police said Scott Paul Beierle, 40, walked into Hot Yoga in Tallahassee, FL, around 5:30 pm and opened fire, killing Maura Binkley, 21, and one other person, along with wounding five others, before turning the gun on himself.
The other fatality was Dr. Nancy Van Vessem, 61, who was an internist at Capital Health Plan. Binkley was a student at Florida State University.
In all, there were six gunshot victims and one person who had been pistol-whipped, police said. Two victims remained hospitalized in stable condition and three were released. An investigation remains ongoing.

Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo told reporters Friday night that the shooter acted alone and authorities were still looking at possible motives.
