MARTA Makes Travel a Breeze This Thanksgiving

MARTA will operate holiday service Thursday and Friday and will implement bus reroutes to accommodate the Atlanta Half Marathon and Thanksgiving Day 5K.

Brookhaven and Chamblee residents will find to be convenient and affordable this Thanksgiving holiday weekend with service to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and great events throughout the city including the Atlanta Half Marathon and Thanksgiving Day 5K, Macy’s Tree Lighting at Lenox Square Mall and the Atlanta Falcons game.

To accommodate weekend activities, MARTA will have special event rail service available to get customers quickly to their destinations. Additional staff and police will be on hand to assist patrons.

For $2.50 each way (plus a $1 charge for a permanent Breeze card), MARTA is by far the most affordable way to travel. For added convenience, customers are encouraged to purchase round-trip fare at the start of their trip to avoid long lines on the return.

Parking for less than 24 hours is free at all of MARTA’s daily parking facilities. Customers parking in the decks at Lindbergh Center Station must park in MARTA designated areas and validate their parking ticket at machines inside Lindbergh Station in order to receive free daily parking.  Please note that MARTA has some designated lots which charge a fee.

MARTA will operate an adjusted holiday schedule on Thursday and Friday. In addition, some buses will be rerouted to accommodate events. These reroutes are listed below.

For more information about service changes, please visit www.itsmarta.com or contact Customer Service at 404-848-5000.  Please note that on Thursday, November 24th, the Customer Service Call Center will be closed and the Customer Information Center will only be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, MARTA’s Lost & Found office at Five Points Station and Reduced Fare offices at Five Points Station and MARTA Headquarters Building will be closed on Thursday, November 24th. On Friday, November 25th all three offices will operate a revised schedule from 9 a.m. to noon.
