Hours-Long Brookhaven SWAT Standoff Ends With Suspect In Custody

Frank George Roach, a domestic violence suspect, barricaded himself inside a Lynwood Park home on Tuesday. He's now facing more charges.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- An hours-long SWAT standoff ended peacefully Tuesday afternoon after a domestic violence suspect barricaded himself inside a Lynwood Park home. Police said George Frank Roach, 48, initially refused to surrender to police as they attempted to serve a warrant early Tuesday morning.

Brookhaven police believed the situation to be serious enough to call request DeKalb County SWAT assistance. SWAT teams eventually entered the home early Tuesday afternoon and took Roach, who is facing multiple charges, into custody after a minor struggle. Roach was hiding in the home when he was arrested, according to Brookhaven Police Maj. Brandon Gurley.

Residents on Osborne Road from Lynwood Drive to Devine Circle were being advised to remain in their homes until the all-clear was given.
