Video/Photos: Atlanta Mayor Receives Doctor of Laws Degree from Oglethorpe

Former mayor and United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young introduced Kasim Reed

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed was among two other recipients of honorary degrees conferred by Oglethorpe University during its Spring Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 7.

Reed was joined by Linda L. Bierds, Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Washington, receive the Doctor of Letters, and Richard W. Wrangham, Ruth Moore Professor of Biological Anthropology at Harvard University received the Doctor of Science.

Oglethorpe conferred more than 200 student degrees in Bachelors of Arts, Business and Administration and 40 Masters of Arts degrees in teaching.
