This Week: Brookhaven's Last Food Truck Wednesday

Brookhaven is inviting the public out for its last food truck roundup on Wednesday, June 28 at Blackburn Park.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Billed as the city's ultimate meals-on-wheels program, Brookhaven's food truck roundup will be at Blackburn Park one more time -- Wednesday, June 28 -- before a hiatus. Every Wednesday, people have come out to the park to enjoy grub from an assortment of businesses, but now it's time for a break, the city said.

“We adjusted this year’s schedule to take advantage of the good weather we have in the spring, but in the middle of the summer the attendance wanes and we cannot ensure the same variety,” Parks and Recreation Director Brian Borden said in a news release. Borden said that foodies will have to wait until late summer for the food trucks to return. “After June 28, the trucks will take a short summer break and return on Aug. 16 and continue until the end of October.”

Brookhaven said the event series has been a smashing success since its 2013 launch.

On Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m., residents are invited to the park at 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road to enjoy good food, adult beverages in a beer and wine tent, live entertainment and activities for children.
