APD Crime Report: Robberies Up 13% Year-to-Date From 2012
Citywide, there were 47 robberies reported for Week 19, bringing the 2014 year-to-date total to 724. The figure marks a 7 percent decrease from the same point last year, but a spike since 2012 at the same point of calendar.
The Atlanta Police Department has released its crime report for Week 19 that spanned May 4-10.
Citywide, there were 47 robberies reported for Week 19, bringing the 2014 year-to-date total to 724.
That figure marks a 13 percent increase from the same point in 2012 (638 robberies).

There have been 23 murders in the city through the first 19 weeks, which is an 8 percent decrease from the same point in 2013.
Other crimes that are down from last year according to police statistics include robbery (7 percent), aggravated assault (3 percent), burglary (11 percent), auto larceny (7 percent), larceny/other (11 percent) and auto theft (22 percent).

Rape is up 71 percent from the same point in 2013.
