Beggar's Dog Stolen and More Police Reports
Police have released the latest crime data for Zone 2, which includes Buckhead

Atlanta police have released their latest weekly crime report for Zone 2, the zone which includes Buckhead.
The report counts 11 robberies, four aggravated assaults, 12 residential burglaries, 8 commercial burglaries, 36 larcenies from vehicle, 40 other larcenies, and 11 auto thefts between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31. Some of the more noteworthy incidents are as follows:
- On the evening of Oct. 25, two black males asked to buy the victim’s blue nose pit-bull while he was begging for money at the Chevron at 1901 Hollywood Road. Moments later, the suspects chased the victim and punched him; taking his Arby’s bag containing $1,000 and the dog. The suspect fled back to an awaiting gray Nissan. The victim attempted to hold onto the vehicle until one suspect pulled a long case from the trunk, which the victim believed was a gun.
- On the evening of Oct. 26, the victim arranged to meet “Ashley” from Craigslist in the parking lot at 110 E Andrews Drive to purchase gift cards from her. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and when the victim asked to see the cards, Ashley got out and two black males entered the vehicle. The suspects pulled out a black handgun and stated, “You know what it is.” Suspects took the victim’s Motorola Turbo cell phone and a blue bank deposit bag containing $1,500. The suspects order the victim to drive away and “not call the police or they would kill her”.
- On the evening of Oct. 29, an off duty unit alerted to a woman screaming in the Lenox Square Mall parking lot. Three black males approached the victim from behind and told her to empty out her purse. When the suspects attempted to snatch her purse, it dumped on the ground; picking up her money and her cell phone. The suspects insisted the victim had more money and demanded her keys. When the victim informed them she did not and was waiting on a ride, they continued to follow her asking for keys. The victim eventually laid on the ground and began to scream causing the suspects to flee on foot towards the Marta Station. One of the suspects were apprehended.
- On Oct. 30, burglars struck a home in the 2800 block of Wyngate Drive. Rear kitchen window smashed in. A silver Cartier watch, three gold and diamond rings, a diamond/gold pen, a large quantity of silverware and $200 in cash were taken.
- On the evening of Oct. 25, two vehicles in the 1600 block of Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard were targeted; a door pried open and a window broken. A 9mm Jimenez firearm, $100 cash, a car seat,, an HP laptop and a Samsung Galaxy cellphone were taken.
