According to Forbes, only 8% of people making New Year’s resolutions actually achieve them. So far, 19% intend to meet new people or interact more with current friends. Letting go of negativity is the goal for 14.3%, and 9.5% want to travel or experience something new. Another 33.3% want to live healthier, and the final 23.8% plan to embrace change.
📰 Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:
- Buckhead’s edges are getting more police presence. “The Buckhead Safety Alliance has been given police cars and plans to hire off-duty officers,” who then go to work in areas where law enforcement coverage is thin, as well as assigning “targeted patrols around retail spots.” Residents who would like to contribute financially to the effort are encouraged to do so. (Fox, Buckhead Safety)
- Shoutout to Ariannie at Propel ATL! The nonprofit announced Friday that its intern graduated from Georgia State University. “Ariannie, we're grateful for all your inspired work with us in 2022 and wish you the best on a bright future,” the organizers said. (Propel ATL)
- Holiday Ham Haul volunteers got busy on Friday, “making sure that every firefighter and police officer working on Christmas Eve in Atlanta can get a delicious meal.” They brought ham, turkey, sides and Southern Baked Pie to “all 36 Atlanta Fire Rescue Stations and all 7 Atlanta Police Department Zones.” (Reporter Newspapers)
- Did you know that Sarah Flint opened a luxury women’s shoe store at Buckhead Village? It’s true! It’s "across from the Buckhead Library at 260 Buckhead Avenue” with hours "from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and from noon until 6 p.m. on Sundays." (The Atlanta Voice)
