Buckhead to Get New Coffeehouse

The coffeehouse is a unique concept owned and operated by a financial services company, but open to the public.

Acru, a subsidiary of Community & Southern Bank, plans to open its financial services operation and public coffeehouse at the corner of Peachtree Road and Shadowlawn Avenue.

Acru CEO Matt Hames discussed his plans for the innovative coffeehouse-business operation model at the Development Review Committee of SPI-9 (Special Public Interest District) meeting in early February. The company already operates a public coffeehouse-business operation concept in Woodstock.

The coffeeshop, named Copper Coin, will be the center of the two-story facility, which could have about 9,000 square feet of space, according to BuckheadView. It will include a drive-up ATM and outdoor patio seating.

More features include a set of bleachers where customers can discuss business needs over a cup of coffee or where the company can bring in guest speakers or even hold intimate concerts.

According to BuckheadView, the Acru development team plans to file for permits in the next three months and to present more detailed plans to the Development Review Committee.
