Celebrate Passover in Buckhead and throughout Atlanta

Passover begins Monday and lasts through April 2. There are various restaurants and synagogues in Atlanta to celebrate the Jewish holiday.

Bust out the matzo. Passover, also known as Pesach, is a time for Jewish people to celebrate their freedom from slavery in ancient Egypt by God more than 3,300 years ago.

This year, Passover begins on Monday, March 25 and ends on April 2.

There are various Passover events going on in Buckhead and throughout Atlanta, and Patch has assembled a sampling of them here.

Ahavath Achim Synagogue, 600 Peachtree Battle Ave. NW in Buckhead, will hold its Passover services starting at 7 a.m. on Monday. For more information and the week's full schedule of Pesach services, visit the synagogue's website.

The Temple in Midtown will hold Passover Seder on Monday and Tuesday nights to honor age-old traditions, while creating news ones, according to its site. Visit The Temple's schedule of Passover week events to get more details.

The General Muir, $48 per person and $60 with wine pairings.

Rosa Mexicano

What: The restaurant’s 11th annual Mexican Passover includes: chipotle-marrow-matzo ball soup, taco de gribnes with chicken crackling and duck egg, stuffed saddle of lamb, brisket with sweet oranges and chilies and “Grandma Shapiro’s strudel.”

Lure

What: The restaurant offers its twist on gefilte fish, using fresh Georgia Rainbow trout and Pollack, and beet horseradish.
