You answered! 42.9% like the collaboration to end plastic pollution, while 21.4% favor the news that Ethiopia’s civil war is over. 14.3% like news of a new malaria vaccine, and the final 21.4% are excited about hydrogen-powered trains. Nobody particularly cared for Colorado’s pardoning of those with cannabis possession charges. Thank you for participating!

📰 Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

  1. Celebratory gunfire is usually not a good idea, and the Atlanta Police Department (APD) had to deal with some cases of celebration-involved shootings. A 17-year-old was grazed by a bullet near Peachtree Street and Wall Street. Another man was struck by a bullet right around 74 Alabama Street. In a situation at 2396 Hill Street, celebrants “were outside shooting into the air when someone accidentally shot the victim,” who doesn’t want to press charges. (APD)
  2. Three local animal shelters are struggling with canine influenza virus type H3N2 and need your help! Administrators are “looking for temporary emergency housing for new animals.” This is a temporary arrangement to prevent the exposure of healthy dogs to the virus. “Quarantine protocols will remain in place at all locations until they are reassessed on Jan. 21.” If you can help, get in touch with Fulton County Animal Services, DeKalb County Animal Services, or the LifeLine Community Animal Center. (Rough Draft Atlanta)
  3. Rapper Young Thug listed his Buckhead mansion for $3.1 million. Monday’s report notes that a buyer will get “seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a movie theater, two living rooms, and two wet bars.” You may remember that the rapper is currently involved in a RICO case, which might be the reason why the short-term rental use of the property is no longer desired. (XXL)
  4. Did you know that the tarp on “the former W Hotel” at 14th Street and Ansley Park has been flapping “for nearly a year and ½?” We learned on Monday that a neighbor finally had enough and contacted “Hilton International” to find out what gives. So far, the hotel chain has remained mum. (Atlanta Urbanize)
