Firefighters Respond to Malfunctioning, Smoking Furnace at Buckhead Salon

A few hairstylists and their customers were a little shaken up, but safe, following an incident that involved a malfunctioning furnace on Thursday night.

Four different fire trucks and several Atlanta firefighters arrived on the scene around 6:30 p.m. Thursday after receiving emergency calls about smoke and possible fire at Che's Hair Salon at 2966 Grandview Avenue.

The entire building, which houses multiple salons, filled with smoke, according to Sandy Irving, a stylist at adjacent Hair Today salon.

No one was injured, and witnesses praised the firefighters for their quick response.
