Has Georgia Become a Swing State in National Politics?

Tommy Hills will address Buckhead Heritage

How has Georgia become a swing state in national politics, and what will our state’s future look like? Buckhead resident Tommy Hills, the author of “Red State Rising,” will give Buckhead Heritage an insider’s perspective on Georgia politics as the state readies for what is sure to be another bruising battle for the White House this November. The free program, open to members and non-members, will be held Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Philip Gould Room.

Hills was the CFO for the State of Georgia during Governor Sonny Perdue’s administration. He is a keen political observer and businessman.

The Native Atlantan was born at Piedmont Hospital and has been a resident of Buckhead for all of his adult life. He was former Atlanta City President of Wachovia Bank. He worked with that bank and its predecessor, First Atlanta, for over three decades. He was CFO State of Georgia 2003 to 2010 and State of Georgia Treasurer 2010 to 2011. He is active on many community boards. He has a B.A. and M.A. in History and J.D. from Emory Law School.
