LGBT School Slated for September Opening

The private school will accept LGBT students from across the region once it opens near Buckhead to start the 2016-17 school year.

ATLANTA, GA -- LGBT students in the southern United States will soon have the opportunity to attend school at a facility which caters to their unique life experiences, according to a report.

The Pride School will operate out of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta located just south of Interstate 85 and wll begin classes in September of this year, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The student body will be mostly members of the LGBT community, but any students who feel singled out for their differences are welcome to apply, founder Christian Zsilavetz told the AJC.

Tuition for the private school will cost around $13,000, but Zsilavetz tells the AJC that financial aid would be available to some students.

The Pride School would be the first facility of its kind in the southeast and will accept students from across the region who have been ostracized due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
