📰 Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

  1. A man sleeping in his car at 820 Sydney Marcus Boulevard was shot Friday morning around 3 a.m. but survived. The Atlanta Police Department (APD) reported that he was “awakened to one of his windows being broken. When the victim looked up to see what had occurred, he was confronted and shot by armed suspects.” They got away in what is described as a Chrysler 300. (APD)
  2. A black Chrysler 200 fled the police Friday morning, lost control, and “struck a light pole and a tree,” which caused the car to bust into flames. The driver first caught the attention of law enforcement near Lenox Road and the GA 400 South, when it exceeded 120 miles per hour. The chase traveled along Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Piedmont Road. The driver and a female passenger were hospitalized in critical condition. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution/paywall)
  3. Would you pay up to $5,200 for a three-bedroom apartment at 321 Pharr Road Northeast, which is currently the location of the Aura Lounge? Tidal Real Estate Partners is betting yes, and it submitted a rezoning application on December 4. The company envisions a tower featuring 414 units that could be move-in ready by 2025. "There are no affordable units in the development, per the application." (Atlanta Business Chronicle/paywall)
  4. Dorian Gray at 111 West Paces Ferry Road Northwest opened quietly on the last day of November. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, envision “the feeling of seaside resorts like Capri, Monaco, and Belize” combined with “upscale continental cuisine, craft cocktails, and Deep House music.” The menu features such items as duck ravioli, Wagyu carpaccio, and filet Mignon. (Buckhead, Dorian Gray)
  5. Buckhead Theatre insiders announced Friday that Harry Mack will play a leg of his Odyssey Tour at the venue. The improvisational rapper selected April 6 at 8:30 p.m. for an 18-and-over event. If you plan to head out to the show, best get your tickets early! (Buckhead Theatre)
