New Year’s Resolutions Poll! 🎶
According to Forbes, only 8% of people making New Year’s resolutions actually achieve them. Even so, the experts suggest making resolutions because they encourage intentionality, optimism, and a positive effect on others. So, what are your resolutions for 2023?

📰 Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:

1) Who stabbed a 77-year-old woman in her home on Paces West Terrace Northwest? Authorities announced on Monday that they arrested a 23-year-old man as a suspect in the death. Reportedly, the victim caught the suspect as he attempted to steal her car. “In less than 24 hours, a neighbor who saw the photos spotted Brown and contacted police.” (Fox)

2) On the last day of November, the Buckhead Heritage Society preserved a piece of local history. You may remember the park that was named in honor of Frankie Allen in the 1980s. “In 2022, Buckhead Heritage formed a Task Force to explore restoring the historical name of the park.” Their persistence paid off, and the location at 431 Pharr Road Northeast is once again known as Bagley Park, which was its colloquial name as far back as 1921 and formally in the 1950s. (Patch)

3) It’s official. "Disco Kroger" at 3330 Piedmont Road Northeast closed its doors on Friday. The store had been at the location for 47 years. Developers intend to overhaul the shopping center. (Fox)

4) We learned on Tuesday that Zakia at 3699 Lenox Road Northeast has officially opened! Hungry guests should head over to the Modera Prominence complex and ready themselves for Middle Eastern food with a strong leaning toward Lebanese cuisine. However, before you go, check your wardrobe! The staff at Zakia enforces a semiformal dress code, which The Spruce helpfully defines as “an outfit that is dressier than what you'd wear to an office but not as dressy as a formal evening gown or tuxedo.” (Eater Atlanta)

5) Mark your calendars! Chabad Brookhaven and Buckhead will host a menorah lighting at the Shops Buckhead on Peachtree Road. The Hanukkah celebration is on December 24 at 7 p.m. “There will be Hanukkah crafts and activities, latkes, doughnuts, hot drinks and Jewish holiday music.” (Discover Atlanta)
