Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:

  1. A Morgan County resident has been awarded for assisting in the investigation and conviction of a man charged with burning five Bethany Road cabins. The woman was presented with $5,000 from the Georgia Arson Control agency. The check was made out to "Concerned Citizen" and was presented by the Morgan County Sheriff and the Morgan County Fire & Rescue Chief. (Morgan County Citizen)
  2. Atlanta BeltLine Inc. reports that the policy changes that assisted Buckhead residents will most likely not work in Cherokee County. According to the organization, housing challenges vary from district to district but it is working with local policymakers to tackle the challenges. The organization set a goal of 5,600 affordable housing units to be built by the year 2030 - it is currently ahead of schedule. (WSB Radio)
  3. Despite downtown Atlanta's office rents being lower than Buckhead's, developers are expecting a comeback. The area has been neglected for decades but downtown Atlanta developers are placing big bets that the area's potential is still there. The average rate for downtown office space in Buckhead is $36.36 per square foot while it is $30.60 in downtown Atlanta. (CoStar)
