Students, Staff Safe After Threat At North Atlanta High

North Atlanta High School was locked down on Tuesday due to an emailed threat, school officials told Patch.

ATLANTA, GA β€” North Atlanta High School, near Buckhead, was locked down late Tuesday morning due to an emailed threat, Atlanta Public Schools confirmed to Patch.

APS did not detail the contents of the email sent to the Northside Parkway school.

The lockdown impacted the school's exterior while school district police and other agencies performed a campus search, APS officials said.

Subsequently, North Atlanta was given the all-clear and the lockdown ended, school officials said. Students and staff members were safe, school officials said.

"APS takes situations such as this extremely seriously as the safety and security of our students, employees, and campuses is our top priority," school officials said in a statement.
