Tex McIver Freed of Ankle Monitors: Report
Monday ruling effectively means attorney is no longer considered a flight risk.
BUCKHEAD, GA -- Disgraced Atlanta attorney Claud βTexβ McIver will no longer have to wear an ankle monitor, according to news reports.
The ruling, which took place in a Fulton County courtroom Monday, means that the prominent lawyer is no longer considered a flight risk, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
McIver is charged with killing his wife, 63-year-old Diane McIver. The businesswoman died from a gunshot wound in September after her husband claimed that he accidentally shot her when he fell asleep with a gun in his lap in their SUV.

The couple were stopped at an intersection in Midtown near Piedmont Park, according to reports. Tex McIver was in the backseat while his wife was in the front passenger seat. A friend of Diane McIver was driving.
Tex McIver was arrested in December and got out of jail on a $200,000 bond. Heauctioned off some of his wife's belongings earlier this month.
