69-Year-Old Accused Of Pushing A Woman In Front Of Moving Vehicle During Argument

ATLANTA, GA – A 69-year-old Powder Springs woman is in jail after police say she pushed another woman in front of a moving vehicle during an argument.

Gloria J. Franklin has been charged with aggravated assault after the incident that left the victim hospitalized.

Tuesday morning around 9:50 a.m., Atlanta Police and paramedics from Atlanta Fire Rescue Department were called to the sixth floor of the Piedmont Hospital parking deck in Buckhead.

Police officers and rescue crews arrived to find a woman who had been struck by an oncoming vehicle, police said. The driver remained with the woman until authorities arrived and cooperated with the police investigation.

Investigators determined that Franklin got into a verbal altercation with the victim and at some point pushed her into the traffic lane inside the parking deck. A vehicle moving through the parking deck hit the woman as she stumbled into the lane, police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition, authorities said.

Franklin was arrested on the spot and is being held at the Fulton County Jail.
